I guess Apple is trying to meet demands it has never been able to meet. You have to remember Tim Cook's primary thing is that he is a supply chain guy. That is what he shone for under Jobs.

Apple suppliers see best July on record as they prepare for 'largest launch in history'
the ramp up for a series of new iOS gadgets that will combine for the 'biggest second-half product launches' in the company's history.... the largest electronics product launches of all time. ... "With the iPhone 5 launch and "iPad Mini" on the horizon, along with the potential for an Apple TV in the coming quarters, we believe Apple's stock is prepared for the next major leg up that could propel Apple to our $1,111 price target over the next year" .... also looking forward to the potential addition of China Mobile to the company's carrier lineup during the first half of 2013, "providing plenty of excitement for investors."

Apple And Pinterest

How is that a fit? Facebook, yeah, but Apple?

Apple Wants To Buy Pinterest Rival, The Fancy
The Fancy takes a 10 percent cut of purchases. Last we checked in, sales were exploding.... Einhorn and Apple CEO Tim Cook met at Allen & Co.'s Sun Valley conference earlier this year. The notoriously private Cook, who does not visibly participate in any well-known social media sites, started using The Fancy shortly afterwards. ..... The Fancy raised a $10 million round at a reported valuation of $100 million last fall, led by PPR, the French luxury conglomerate behind Gucci. It previously raised $6 million in 2010; $2.7 million of that round went to Einhorn and his cofounder, his brother Jack Einhorn .... Twitter cofounder Jack Dorsey and Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes are on the board .... Apple could well build an e-commerce layer into its operating system and let application developers hook into it, giving them a way to make money besides advertising. .... The Fancy's offices are situated above an Apple Store in New York City
My first time hearing the name The Fancy.

iOS Soars Ahead of Android
Development As Apple Quietly Makes Move Into The Enterprise Market
Apple now has an enterprise associate in every Apple store..... The interest in Windows is arguably as interesting as Apple’s gains. Could this be the new race between Apple and Microsoft?
Steve Jobs had disdain for the enterprise space. For him it was all about consumers. At one All Things D conference he basically called CIOs of big companies "assholes." And he was not using indirect language.

So it is interesting to see Apple is making a conscious effort to hit the enterprise space under Tim Cook.

Noted analyst shares predictions for next-generation iOS devices, MacBooks, iMacs
the heavily rumored smaller iPad will launch in late September, a follow-up to a next-generation iPhone launch earlier in that month..... Apple will be slimming down the 13-inch MacBook Pro this fall and adding a Retina Display to the machine
Looks like Tim Cook is doing just fine, and Steve Jobs built a company to last. This was no cult hovering around one person.

The Next Big Thing For Apple

Image representing Tim Cook as depicted in Cru...Image via CrunchBaseThe PC/laptop is done. The smartphone is done. The tablet is done. I don't foresee any major transformations with any of those. What is not done is the TV screen. That is the next frontier. But I am not sure Apple - or any other company I know - is in a position to do it. The TV might get done by some startup not launched yet. Or it might get done by Apple and Google. Right now it is too early to tell. And the wrist watch might not see magic before nanotech really takes off. Which brings us to the big movie screen, but then the problem with movies is outdated business practices, less technology. People are okay watching movies on smaller screens.

And I Am Not Even An Apple Fanboy
Steve Jobs — 1955-2011
Seven Screens

Bill Gates retired, but Steve Jobs died. Tim Cook might be a better groomed successor than Steve Ballmer, but the guy still has a tough nut to crack. Ride the iPhone and the iPad wave for as long as you can. That is at least two good years ahead.
